Çiğdem Teke

Çiğdem Teke, born in Dinslaken in 1977, studied acting at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands. She subsequently worked closely with director Susanne Kennedy, first at the National Theatre in The Hague and later at Münchner Kammerspiele, where she was a member of the ensemble from 2011 to 2015.

At Münchner Kammerspiele, she appeared in Kennedy’s productions Fegefeuer in Ingolstadt and Warum läuft Herr R. Amok?, both of which were invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen. She also worked with director Sebastian Nübling in productions including Three Kingdoms, Orpheus steigt herab and Camino Real. Further artistic collaborations include work with directors René Pollesch, Johan Simons, Andreas Kriegenburg and Alvis Hermanis.

Since the 2015/16 season, Çiğdem Teke has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater. At the Gorki, she has worked with directors including Sebastian Baumgarten, Ersan Mondtag and Yael Ronen. Alongside her theatre work, she also creates film and video projects.
