Liina Magnea

Liina Magnea is a Berlin based performance artist and choreographer working at the intersection of dance, music, film dramaturgy, and internet culture. Drawing on the idea of the immaterial Gesamtkunstwerk, she creates performances that engage equally with compulsivity and psychological fragility as they do with spectacle. She is known for embodying highly charged figures such as police officers, soldiers, and school shooters, taking them apart through tragedy and absurdity. Her work has been presented at Steirischer Herbst, MUDAM Luxembourg, Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Wiener Festwochen, Volksbühne Berlin, and Sophiensæle, among others.

Since the 2026/27 season, Liina Magnea is part of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater.
